Body contouring, or body sculpting, is a medical or surgical procedure that aims to reshape an area of the body. It may involve procedures to:
Body contouring does not usually help you lose weight. Instead, it helps shape the body and address specific areas where weight loss isn’t effective or after significant weight loss results in extra skin.
Surgical Procedure called Liposuction
Non-surgical Procedures include Cryolipolysis, Radiofrequency, Ultrasound Therapy, Laser Lipolysis, Mesotherapy, HIFU, Cavitation treatment and Kybella
1.Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty):
Tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that addresses excess skin and fat in the abdominal area. The procedure involves removing excess skin, tightening the abdominal muscles, and sometimes repositioning the navel for a smoother, firmer abdomen.
2.Thigh Lift:
Thigh lift surgery aims to reshape and tone the thighs by removing excess skin and, in some cases, fat. It is often sought by individuals with sagging skin on the inner or outer thighs.
3.Arm Lift (Brachioplasty):
Brachioplasty is a procedure that addresses sagging skin on the arms, often referred to as “bat wings.” Excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin is tightened to improve arm contour.
4.Buttock Lift:
This procedure is designed to lift and reshape the buttocks by removing excess skin and, in some cases, fat. It can be performed in conjunction with other procedures like a lower body lift.
5.Body Lift:
Body lift is a comprehensive procedure that targets multiple areas, typically the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. It is commonly performed on individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight, resulting in sagging skin.
Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia, intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure and the surgeon's preference. Small incisions (usually less than half an inch) are made near the targeted areas. The incisions are strategically placed in inconspicuous locations to minimize visible scarring.A tumescent solution, consisting of saline (saltwater), local anesthetic, and epinephrine (a drug that constricts blood vessels), is injected into the targeted area. This solution helps numb the area, reduce bleeding, and facilitate the removal of fat. A thin tube called a cannula is inserted through the incisions and moved back and forth to loosen and suction out the excess fat. The suction device attached to the cannula removes the liquefied fat from the body.
There are various liposuction techniques, including traditional liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL), and laser-assisted liposuction (LAL), each with its unique advantages. The surgeon carefully sculpts and contours the treated area to achieve the desired shape and smooth transitions.
Non-surgical body contouring procedures offer alternatives to traditional surgical methods for individuals looking to reshape and tone their bodies without undergoing surgery. These procedures are typically less invasive, involve minimal downtime, and can be performed on an outpatient basis. Here are some common non-surgical body contouring options:
CoolSculpting, Radio Frequency treatments, Ultrasound therapy, Laser lipolysis, Injection lipolysis, Laser lipolysis, Injection lipolysis (Mesotherapy), HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) treatments, Cavitation treatments and Injectable Deoxycholic Acid (Kybella) are some of the non-surgical procedures for body contouring.
